Effortless Wedding beauty…

It was an absolute pleasure working with Melissa to create her stunning bespoke Noble and Wright dress. Melissa has a very similar style to myself so I found it easier to understand exactly what she was after. Her brief was for her dress to be simple and effortless which I believe we achieved in abundance. This dress really has been one of my all time favourites and the epitome of classic beauty.

Read all about her day and inspirations here.

The Setting…

It was important to the couple to have flexibility with their day and to be able to make it exactly as they wanted. “Pitched Events – Sailcloth Tent in Bitteswell provided the tent. We wanted to have full control of the day and to be able to design the day from start to finish. Having it in a tent allowed us to be creative, in control of our timings and have it exactly how we wanted! Also no end time!”

The ceremony was held in Foxton church – “a lovely church that sat at the end of my parent’s road. We kept the service short and sweet with 2 readings and 2 hymns.”

The feel of the day & colours…

“Simple, but an elegant feel, we only had the colours white and green to feel timeless and modern.” We adored the simplicity of the colours of Melissa’s day; it really did create a clean and beautiful backdrop.

What was unique…

“Overall we wanted this to feel like a celebration. We kept the start of the day very traditional and then the afternoon we really wanted to keep it low key and really just a big party.”

Flowers…

A close family member provided all the flowers for the day. “We used my husband’s Godmother who was an absolute superstar. We sourced all the flowers locally, sticking with a really simple green and white theme. I didn’t want anything too traditional, just more of a loose, modern bouquet. She also dressed the sailcloth tent beautifully, creating 3 wreaths from scratch that were suspended from the poles. They really were the icing on the cake and made the tent feel complete!”

Hair and Make up…

“I used a local makeup artist based in Great Bowden called Flo. I wanted a really natural look with slightly smoky eyes and a purple/red lip. For my hair I used Tilly, based in Lutterworth. I found the right balance between smart and loose, going for a low bun that allowed the back of my dress to shine.”

Shoes…

“I wore some amazing Kirt Geigers! I really struggled to find something that was the finishing touch to my dress and that were practical for a wedding in a field! With my dress having a small slit down the back I wanted something that added an extra layer of detail. They were simple with a touch of sparkle down the heel, finishing off the dress nicely!”

Accessories…

“I kept my jewellery very simple as I didn’t want to distract from the simplicity of my dress. I ended up wearing a pair of cuff earrings that I picked up in a recent trip to Singapore.”

Bridesmaids & Groomsmen…

“Both my bridesmaids were from Asos. This was the easiest job out of them all. With the girls both being the same size and style, we picked the most stunning dresses. The colour was called ‘Lavender Fog’ and the style was very simple on the front, with a lovely open detailed back.”

Photographer…

A really special thing about Melissa’s day is that her photographer was a fellow Noble and Wright bride who was getting married the following month and also brought her dress from us. “Elizabeth Alice Holt – a great friend of mine and a fantastic photographer! She naturally captured moments rather than staged shots. We haven’t stopped looking through the album since the day! Her album really summed up our day with a rollercoaster of laughter and tears as we went through it.”

How did your dress make you feel…

“From day one I knew I wanted a really simple dress that on the day felt right for a church wedding but then I could feel really comfortable in later. After a few months of hunting and hating most dresses I took a mood board into Noble and Wright of roughly what I wanted.

The dress was absolutely perfect and worth all the time and effort that was put into it. It was so comfortable to wear and made in the softest fabric. I ended up choosing an absolutely dreamy (huge) veil that finished off the dress perfectly! I had all intensions of taking it off after the ceremony, but ended up wearing it until the very end!”

“Noble and Wright were fantastic from day one. The first dress makers I went into and felt comfortable with being honest about what I wanted. Hannah & Rachael understood exactly what I was thinking and I immediately knew the team was right to help me make my dress! Overall an unbelievable experience and I’m gutted we can’t have the day all over again.”

Melissa’s dress was made from a sumptuous matte crepe with soft boat neck and dramatic plunging back. We trimmed the sleeve and back in a soft Chantilly lace trim and added a cool and stylish split in the back. Simply stunning in so many ways!
