New York Bride By Noble And Wright Atelier

New York City Bride…

From the moment I met Claire to discuss her dress ideas she knew exactly what she wanted….. a ¾ dress with an amazing floral print. I couldn’t be happier and felt excited to create something amazing to suit Claire’s brief. Here is the story of Claire’s wedding day and everything that inspired her.

The Setting…

New York was the location for Claire’s big day and what an incredible setting it was. They got married “next to Bethesda Fountain, Central Park. I’d always said I would ‘run away’ to get married and then celebrate with a big party and that is what we did!!! I really wanted to get married outside.” They had an intimate civil ceremony which Claire describes as “the most amazing ceremony for us both, it was perfect and the Celebrant got us down to a T!!”

The feel of the day and colours…

Claire explained to me when I met her that she wanted their day to be informal and relaxed and florals were to take center stage. “Our theme was colourful and floral, the feel of the day was ‘go with the flow’ and magical, getting married abroad meant that nothing could be written in stone and we needed to be prepared for the unexpected.” After the ceremony, they all went to eat at a local restaurant. Intimate and romantic.

What was unique…

With such a fantastic setting, the day was full of adventure. Claire explains the whole experience felt unique “from going to Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa on 5th Avenue in the morning with my mum to get our hair and make-up done, to calling into a florist to pick flowers for my bouquet on the day, having our ceremony whilst everyone else in central park was going about their business and getting some amazing photos around the city afterwards. It was perfect.”

Flowers…

Going with the flow of the day Claire simply found a florist on 5th Avenue and went to select her flowers. “I went to select some flowers that I intended to put into a bouquet myself, the florists insisted that they did it for me and also did a button hole for Adam. I had white flowers which consisted of hydrangeas and roses with blue thistles and green eucalyptus, it was beautiful.

Hair and Make up…

We loved Claire’s hair and make-up, we thought how much it suited her wedding dress style. Claire had her hair done at Elizabeth Arden spa and explains “it was everything I thought it would be – a typical American spa experience. I took a leap of faith with the make-up artist who was from el Salvador about my eye make-up and my hair was beautiful and incorporated the plaits I wanted.

Shoes…

Another element Claire had a clear vision about was her shoes and we adored the complete look. “I wore mustard colour Chie Mihara handmade shoes from Spain, they were amazingly comfortable and were a perfect match with my dress.”

Accessories…

“I wore simple diamond stud earrings, my grandmother’s coral and pearl ring which was my ‘something old’. I carried a red Lulu Guinness bag and knitted a green shawl to wear if it was cold.  I had a sparkly daisy hair comb in my hair.”

The Groom…

Matching Claire perfectly Adam wore “a floral shirt from Boden with brown smart trousers and a blue/brown/grey tweed jacket.

Photographer…

We adored the way the photographer captured the feel of the day. They really made us feel like we were a part of the atmosphere. “James Brosnan was recommended by our Celebrant. He was amazing and a perfect complement to mine and Adams personalities. He was a native New Yorker so it was great that he was able to share his City with us, he had a laid back, documentary style to his photography and worked really hard to capture all that we wanted from our day.”

Your Dress…

“My dress was absolutely unique and I felt so special and so ‘me’ wearing it, it totally reflected my personality, I knew I was not going to find anything ‘off the shelf’ and did not want a traditional wedding dress. Hannah sourced the most amazing silk fabric and produced a simple design that complimented both the fabric and me. It felt effortless to wear and I received so many compliments from friends and family who said they could not see me in anything else. I can’t wait to wear it again on all my anniversary’s.

Final comments from Claire…

“Your wedding dress should be an extension of who you are and I feel Noble and Wright completely understand this and worked with me to get the best dress for my very special day and I felt amazing wearing it.”

Claire’s dress was an absolute pleasure to make. I loved everything about her ideas and loved her unique style. It was made of sumptuous silk crepe back satin with a silk floral skirt. We really will miss Claire at her fittings, it was always so much fun and we couldn’t be prouder of the result and even more importantly how incredible it made Claire feel!
